Health records

Animal health

The Health tab on the animal card brings together records that describe the animal's condition, growth and care. It includes health cases, sheds, weight records, length measurements and quarantine. Each section has its own list, and new records are added with the plus button in the relevant section.

Health records

A health record tracks an entire health case — from the first sign, through examination and treatment, to its end — not just a single note.

Start a new case using the plus button in the Health records section. Fill in:

  • Case type — Observation, Illness, Injury, Parasites or Other.
  • Case note — optional.
  • First history entry — date, description and an optional note.

Clicking a case in the list opens its history — a chronological timeline of steps (Case opened, Progress, Veterinary visit, Medication, Treatment/procedure, Checkup, Treatment ended, Other). Each step shows its date, description, note and author. From the history you can add, edit or delete an entry, or end the treatment with the End treatment button, which creates a final entry with the outcome.

The opening entry ("Case opened") can never be deleted and always stays in the list and history. Once a treatment has ended, the case shows a Closed badge in the list and no further entries can be added — until the closing entry is deleted, which makes the case active again.

When visiting the vet you have the case's full history immediately available on your phone.

Attachments complete a health case

The Attachments section in a health case detail stores examination results, photos and other related documents. Use the plus button to add a PDF, JPG or PNG file up to 10 MB. On mobile, choose whether to take a photo, select one from the gallery or load a file from the device. You can give every file a custom name and description.

Attachments show their custom name, file name, description and upload date. Images open in a full preview, while PDF files download to the Downloads folder on mobile; Android shows their progress and completion in a system notification. You can edit an attachment's name and description or delete it after confirmation. The case history and attachments are split into pages when there are more than five items.

Sheds

The Sheds section records the progress of shedding. Start a new shed with the plus button and enter the start date. The record stays open until you complete it.

Tap a shed to open its detail directly in the Health tab. The detail shows the basic information, current status, progress notes and attachments for the shedding process. Use the Back action to return to the shed overview. You can use notes to record changes such as cloudy eyes or a problematic area.

Complete a shed with Complete shed. When completing it, enter the completion date, choose the outcome Normal or Problematic, and optionally add a final note. You can edit the basic details and progress notes for both open and completed sheds. Deleting a shed also deletes its notes.

The Attachments section stores JPG or PNG photos up to 10 MB. Take a photo, choose one from the gallery or load it from the device files. You can optionally name each photo and add a description. The list shows the custom name, file name, description and upload date; long file names are shortened to keep the record readable. Open a photo in a full preview, edit its details or delete it after confirmation. Progress notes and attachments are split into pages when there are more than five items.

Weight

The Weight section tracks the animal's weight over time. Add a record with the plus button or via the quick action Add weight in the Overview tab. Each record contains weight in grams, the date of weighing and an optional note.

Records are listed newest first, and longer lists are paginated. The newest value is shown as the current weight in the animal profile and is also used in the development chart.

Length measurements

The Measurements section tracks the animal's length over time. Add a new record with the plus button. Enter the measurement date, measurement type, length in centimetres and an optional note.

The measurement type explains what the value represents:

  • Total length — the full body length.
  • SVL — snout-to-vent length.
  • Shell length — shell length for species where this is more useful than total length.
  • Other — a custom or less common measurement method.

Records are listed newest first, and longer lists are paginated. The newest value is shown as the animal's current length together with the measurement type and is used in the length development chart.

Quarantine

Quarantine is recorded separately in the Quarantine section. Add it with the plus button or via the Add quarantine action in the animal card header. You record:

  • Start date — when quarantine began (required).
  • End date — when quarantine ended or will end (required). End date cannot be before start date.
  • Note — optional.

Animals in quarantine are visibly marked on the card and in the overview.

Link to the History tab

Health cases, sheds, weight records, length measurements and quarantine records are automatically included in the History tab on the animal card. When you open a record from the combined history, the app takes you to the right section and locates the specific record.
