Add each piece of equipment — such as a heater, UV lamp, thermostat or mister — in the Equipment section. Enter its type, name, brand, model and power. You can use one item in several terrariums; for example, one mister can serve more than one enclosure. You can add equipment before choosing which terrarium to use it in.
When you add equipment to a terrarium, you can enter the installation date, warranty end date, service date and a note for that terrarium. If you use the same item in several terrariums, you can enter different details for each one. The app marks equipment Active when it is used in at least one terrarium. Equipment without a terrarium is Spare.
Managing equipment
Open Equipment from the main navigation. On a phone, find it in the menu beside your profile. Here you can add equipment, edit its details and choose which terrariums use it.
Search the list by equipment or terrarium name, or filter it by Active or Spare status. On a phone, select Equipment overview above the filters to see the equipment counts.
When adding equipment, enter:
- Equipment type — required; choose from the types configured in Settings.
- Name — required; a name for the piece of equipment.
- Brand and model — optional.
- Power (W) — optional power consumption.
Using equipment in terrariums
Add equipment to a terrarium in either of these places:
- on the equipment detail page, select the plus button next to Terrarium assignments, choose a terrarium and enter the installation date, warranty, service date and note;
- on a terrarium profile, open the Equipment tab and add an item already in your equipment list.
To change the terrarium or update installation, warranty or service details, select the edit icon next to that terrarium on the equipment detail page. The installation date cannot be in the future, and the warranty cannot end before installation.
If you use an item in more than five terrariums, use the controls below the list to see the additional terrariums.
To stop using equipment in one terrarium, select the bin icon next to it. This removes its use in that terrarium, along with the installation, warranty and service details and note. The equipment remains in your list and in its other terrariums.
To move equipment to another terrarium, edit it and choose the new terrarium. The same piece of equipment remains in your list.
Equipment on a terrarium profile
The Equipment tab on a terrarium profile shows the devices used there, including their installation date, warranty end date and service date.
- Select the plus button to choose an item from your equipment list and enter its installation details. If it is not listed yet, add it in Equipment first.
- Use the remove action to stop using an item in this terrarium. It remains in Equipment, where you can add it to another terrarium.
- Edit or archive equipment in Equipment.
Equipment without a terrarium
You can add equipment before you use it in a terrarium, for example a spare device or one you plan to use later. Its status is Spare. Add the installation, warranty and service details when you start using it in a terrarium. Until then, you can find it in Equipment.
Equipment status
Equipment is Active while you use it in at least one terrarium. Without a terrarium, its status is Spare. Archived equipment is hidden from the regular list.
Equipment types
Manage the list of equipment types — for example, UV lamps, heat mats and thermostats — in Settings → Equipment types. You can use one type for several pieces of equipment.
Archiving and restoring
When you archive equipment, it disappears from the regular list. Its use in terrariums, warranties and service dates are kept. When you restore it, it appears again on the relevant terrarium profiles.
Notifications
An upcoming or overdue service date creates a notification for each terrarium where you use the equipment. The notification clears when you stop using the equipment there or remove its service date.
