Clutch records let you track the full reproductive cycle — from the clutch through incubation and egg removals to hatchlings — with links to the parents.
Adding a clutch
Add a clutch on the animal's card in the Clutches tab using the plus button. The tab is shown only for females. You record:
- Clutch date.
- Infertile clutch — tick this if the clutch was not fertilised. The father is not required for an infertile clutch.
- Father — link to a male in your records (required for a fertilised clutch).
- Number of eggs.
Clutch detail
Tapping a clutch in the list opens its detail directly in the tab — the list is replaced by the full record for that clutch. The header shows a Back arrow that returns you to the list. The browser back button and the Android hardware back button work the same way. The list page you were on before opening the detail is preserved when you return.
The clutch detail shows the basic data, incubation settings, removed eggs and hatchlings. The header also contains a delete button — deletion is blocked if any hatchlings are linked to the clutch.
Incubation
Incubation details (start date, expected hatch date, temperature, humidity, note) are added in the clutch detail after the clutch has been created.
Removed eggs
For each clutch you can log eggs removed during incubation — for example unfertilised or spoiled eggs. For each removal you record the count, reason, date and an optional note.
Hatchlings
When a hatchling hatches, record it directly in the clutch detail. A new animal is created from the clutch record — species and parents are pre-filled from the mother; you enter the location yourself.
Clutch attachments
The Attachments section in a clutch detail stores JPG or PNG photos of eggs, incubation or the clutch's development, up to 10 MB. You can optionally name each photo and add a description. The attachment list shows the custom name, file name, description and upload date; long file names are shortened to keep the record readable. On mobile, take a photo, select one from the gallery or load it from the device files. Open photos in a full preview, edit their name and description, or delete them after confirmation. Removed eggs, hatchlings and attachments are split into pages when there are more than five items.
All clutches are listed on the animal's card in the Clutches tab. Each entry shows the date, egg count and, where applicable, the number of removed eggs and hatchlings.
