Feeding records

Feeding records let you track when and what each animal was fed, how much was offered, how much was actually consumed, and whether each animal accepted the food.

Adding a feeding record

Add a feeding record on the animal's card in the Feeding tab, or via the quick action in the Overview tab. Fill in:

  • Date of feeding.
  • Food type — choose from the list in Settings → Feeding.
  • Quantity and unit — optional (pcs, g, ml or portion).
  • Size — optional size information.
  • Note — optional note about the record.

Feeding record detail

Clicking a record in the overview opens its detail directly in the Feeding tab. The list is temporarily replaced with the selected record detail, which shows:

  • Basic information — date, offered quantity, remaining quantity, size and note. Basic information can be edited at any time using the pencil button.
  • Consumption records — a breakdown of how much was actually consumed per animal.

The Back arrow in the header, the browser Back button and the Android hardware Back button return you to the original list in the Feeding tab.

Consumption records

For each feeding record you can log how much each animal actually consumed and when. Add a consumption entry using the + button in the Consumption records section. Enter the quantity and date. A single feeding record can have multiple consumption entries — for example if the animal ate gradually.

The app tracks the remaining quantity: the sum of all consumptions cannot exceed the offered quantity.

Rejecting an animal

If an animal refused food, use the Reject button (block icon) in the Consumption records section. A rejected animal cannot receive further consumption entries and is visually marked as rejected.

A rejection can be undone using the Undo rejection button (undo icon), which replaces the Reject and + buttons while the record remains open. After undoing, the animal returns to the pending state and consumption entries can be added again.

Editing and deleting a record

Basic record information (date, food type, quantity, size, note) can be edited in the record detail using the pencil button. A record can be deleted using the Delete button in the detail footer.

Individual consumption entries can be edited or deleted directly in the consumption list.

Closing a record

Once all consumption records are complete, a feeding record can be closed. A closed record cannot be modified — no new consumptions can be added, animals cannot be rejected, and basic information cannot be changed. Closed records are marked with a status badge.

Records awaiting confirmation

Feeding records where no consumption or rejection has been logged yet appear in the Notifications section as pending. Once a record is closed or all animals have a recorded outcome, the notification is dismissed.

Quick feeding confirmation

If a terrarium has exactly one resident, or if you are adding a feeding record directly from the animal's card, a Feeding accepted checkbox appears in the form. Checking it will automatically, after saving:

  • record consumption of the full offered quantity,
  • close the feeding record immediately.

Use this shortcut when you know the animal accepted all the food and there is nothing left to log manually.

Group feeding for a terrarium or slot

From the terrarium or slot view you can log feeding for all active residents at once — the app automatically creates a record for every active animal placed there at the time of creation. Moving an animal later does not affect its feeding history.

In the record detail, each participating animal is shown as its own sub-card with its own consumption records.

Group feeding for a whole rack

From the rack view, you can record feeding for all active residents at once. The app creates one shared record for animals in every slot and notes which slot each animal was in when you recorded the feeding.

Feeding overview for an animal

The Feeding tab on the animal's card shows a chronological list of all records. Each entry shows the date, food type, offered quantity, remaining quantity and status.

Feeding overview for a terrarium or rack

The terrarium or rack detail shows a history of group feeding events with the status of each record and consumed quantities.

Food list

Manage the food list in Settings → Feeding. Add the foods you give your animals, such as live or frozen prey, fruit or vegetables.
